Markoweld configurations

01 . ROBOTIC

Robotic Markolaser

Multi-axis robotic arm carries the welding head to the component. Best for complex 3D weld paths, automotive body-in-white, and high-mix production. Supports seam, spot, and wobble welding modes.

02 . GANTRY

Gantry Markoweld

XY gantry carries the laser head over a fixed workpiece. Ideal for large flat weld areas, solar panel frames, and sheet metal fabrication. High repeatability on long seam welds.

03 . ROTARY

Rotary Markoweld

Component rotates under a fixed laser head for continuous circumferential welds. Used for pipe, tube, and cylindrical vessel sealing. Produces airtight, leak-free welds in a single rotation pass.

04 . LINEAR

Linear Markoweld

Inline production configuration where parts pass through the weld zone on a conveyor or shuttle. Suited to high-volume automotive and electronics assembly lines requiring continuous throughput.

05 . SPM

Special Purpose Markoweld

Fully custom machine designed around a single part or production cell. Markolaser's engineers build the SPM from the ground up-fixturing, laser, motion, inspection, and HMI -as one integrated system.

Applications

Markoweld for EV battery pack welding

EV battery welding demands the tightest tolerances in any welding application — materials as thin as 200 microns, dissimilar metals (copper to aluminium), and zero demagnetisation tolerance. Markoweld handles all three EV battery joining configurations with wobble welding for maximum joint integrity.

CONFIG 01

Tab to busbar weldingTab to busbar welding

  • Materials: Copper (Cu), Aluminium (Al)
  • Thickness: Cu: 0.5 mm-2.5 mm
  • Thickness Al: 1.0mm -2.0 mm
  • Weld mode: Wobble - higher integrity on Cu/Al dissimilar joint
CONFIG 02

Foil to tab welding

  • Materials: Copper (Cu), Aluminium (Al)
  • Total foil thickness: ~400 microns
  • Tab thickness: -200 microns
  • Weld mode: Pulsed minimal HAZ on ultra-thin foil
CONFIG 03

Tab to tab welding

  • Materials: Copper Ni Plated (Cu)
  • Thickness: ~200 microns
  • Application: Cell-to-cell connection in Li-ion pack assembly
  • Weld mode: Spot-high-speed multi-tab sequence

Markoweld for Plastic Welding

Markoweld plastic configuration uses TTLW in which the laser passes through a transparent thermoplastic and is absorbed by the absorptive layer beneath, generating heat at the joint without melting the outer surface. Clean, residue-free, and non-contact.

Used for automotive sensor housings like canister purge valves for EVAP systems, medical device enclosures, and consumer electronics casings where surface finish is critical.

Applications

Application examples validated by Markolaser's engineering team on actual customer components

Li-ion battery tab

Laser spot welding

High-speed multi-point spot welding on Li-ion battery tabs for EV and energy storage applications. Sub-millisecond pulse control prevents cell heating.

Automotive gears

Keyhole welding

Deep penetration keyhole welding on case-hardened automotive gear assemblies. Single-pass penetration to 8-12mm without pre-heat or post-weld treatment

Medical implants

Heat conduction welding

Heat conduction mode on titanium and stainless steel medical implants. Minimal HAZ preserves biocompatibility and surface finish required for implantable device standards.

Canister purge valve

Plastic TTLW PA66

PA66 automotive EVAP valve (30% and 13% glass-filled) joined using TTLW at 70W with wobble welding. Post-weld pressure test: zero air leakage confirmed.

Steel to magnet assembly

Precision spot welding

Steel bracket laser welded to permanent magnet assembly. Controlled heat input keeps temperature below Curie point-full magnetic performance preserved post-weld

Solar panel absorber

Continuous seam welding

Leak-free seam welding on thermal solar panel absorber tubes. Rotary Markoweld configuration produces airtight circumferential weld in a single pass.

FAQ's

1 What is Markoweld?

Ans: Markoweld is Markolaser's range of fiber laser welding machines, available from 100W to 6,000W in robotic, gantry, rotary, linear, and SPM configurations. Every Markoweld is manufactured against the actual component — material, joint geometry, tolerance, and production volume and validated through a sample weld trial before the purchase.

2 What is the price of a Markoweld laser welding machine in India?
3 What materials can Markoweld weld?
4 Can Markoweld weld EV battery packs?

Ans: Yes. In electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing, battery welding is considered one of the most technically challenging welding because it requires many thousands of micro joints to connect to individual ceels ina battery pack. Markoweld supports three EV battery welding configurations: tab-to-busbar ,foil-to-tab and tab-to-tab. All use wobble welding for higher joint integrity on dissimilar metal interfaces. Markoweld is configured to the ultra-thin material thicknesses and dissimilar metal combinations that are required in EV battery assemblies.

5 Where is Markoweld manufactured and serviced in India?

Ans: Markoweld is built and manufactured in Baddi and Gurgaon from Markolaser facility — Plot 135, Pace City-1, Sector 37, Gurugram, Haryana 122001. Service and spare parts cover all major Indian manufacturing hubs including Gurugram, Manesar, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Tirupur, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Punjab and Haridwar. Response time for Delhi NCR breakdown calls is 4 hours; on-site engineer dispatch pan-India is 24–48 hours.

6 What certifications does Markoweld carry?

Ans: Markoweld machines carry ISO, CE, FDA, FQC, and TVMOD certifications. All laser source and optical assemblies use handpicked components from global companies for reliability and compliance with global export standards.

7 Does Markoweld support plastic laser welding?

Ans: Yes. Markoweld's plastic configuration uses a 300W Diode laser at 800–1,000nm via Through Transmission Laser Welding (TTLW). The process joins two thermoplastic parts — one transparent, one absorptive — at the joint interface without marking the outer surface. Compatible materials include Acrylic, PC, PE, PA, PP, PET, PETE, and ABS. Validated on automotive PA66 canister purge valves with zero air leakage confirmed post-weld.

8 Which is the best laser machine for welding ?

Ans: Markoweld from Markolaser is among the industry's leading laser welder manufacturers. Markoweld laser welders are manufactured and customised based on customer’s requirements. Markoweld lasers used in automations offers excellent performance for mold repair, precision engineering, medical components, and many industrial micro-welding applications.
