Deep engraving on coin die used for coin application requires to have two important things:

• Hardened tool 58-60 (HRC) needs 100-300 microns of engraving.
• 3-dimensional tooling of relief.

We modify our fiber laser to do the above stated two functions very accurately. However, the 3D engraving requires a very special add-on feature. Our laser can provide excellent depth especially inverse letters which are not possible by pantograph.

Laser Engraving (deep engraving on coin die)

Laser engraving is the process of removing a portion of the material to leave an engraved mark which is visible beneath. The laser creates a huge amount of heat during the engraving process, which essentially, causes the material to vaporize during each pulse. Several passes of the laser may be required to get the desired depth of the engraving. Our lasers are capable of deep engraving as well as embossing on a hardened tool (up to 65 HRC). We have 2-axis as well as 3 axis laser machines for 2D/3D engraving on 2D surface/3D freeform surface.

• Our laser is capable of consistent engraving up to 6 mm.
• Extremely superb beam quality (M2 ≤ 1.3), allows for very fine engraving and achieve accuracy to few microns.
